Frequently Asked Questions about Registration (Q: question, A: answer)

Q: I didn't submit a paper, can I attend the conference?
A: Yes. Anyone who has paid the registration fee can attend the conference. Registration is still available on-line and will also be available onsite.

Q: Our group has four accepted papers, can we register all four papers with one author?
A: No. Authors are limited to 2 presentations during the conference. I would suggest you determine the 2 colleagues who will make presentations and have them complete the payments. One registration fee includes presenting 2 papers. You do not have to pay one registration fee for each paper unless a different author is presenting for each paper.

Q: Can authors other than the corresponding author present and complete payment?
A: Yes. So long as the author is in the system with a PIN and is associated with the Paper submission that author can complete payment and present at the conference. Once that
payment is complete the corresponding author can then upload the final paper. In other words the corresponding author does not have to present or complete registration so long as one of the identified authors does. However, we suggest that it is best to request the corresponding author be updated so that all conference correspondance goes to the appropriate person, who will be attending the conference.

Q: My Final Paper is not being accepted by the system, what can I do to fix it?
A: If your paper is not being accepted you made a change that does not follow the IEEE Compliancy guidelines. We have re-opened PDF Xpress. Test your paper there or simply re-create your paper using the template provided. However, you should not be making significant changes only minor ones regarding authors, funding, etc.

Q: My notification letter was received with missing information can I get another?
A: If you need a new letter, simply send me an email requesting this and I will forward to you.

Q: My notification letter had a strange code on it. What is that?
A: Each session in the system is labelled with a code that identifies the day and scheduled time of the session. If it starts with SA, it means you will present on Saturday, SU means you will present on Sunday, etc. At the "Start" page for the Online Registration and Paper submission area you will notice where it says "register on-line" in the bottom right corner, it also has a link to the online program generated by the system. You can find your information by using the Author Index or using the schedule for the particular day.

Q: Is the program on the website the Final Program?
A: No. The program on the website is the preliminary Program. The Final Program will be posted later.

Paper Submission Guidelines

D2H2'06 will adopt a two step submission process. The initial submission will be for the review purpose and the final submission will appear in the conference proceedings. Each paper is limited to a total of four (4) pages including references. Authors wishing to publish an extended manuscript may do so. A maximum of three (3) supplementary pages are permitted at an extra charge of $100 USD per additional page.

All papers must follow IEEE Compliancy requirements. We have provided a website, PDFXpress, for you to create your paper or for you to test your paper for compliancy. If you are creating your paper through PDFXpress please remember that you must then submit the paper through the conference online paper registration. PLEASE read the detailed Author instructions. It is the responsibility of the submitting Author to ensure that the document submitted is viewable electronically and without errors that would prevent the Conference from including the paper in CD-ROM or Print Proceedings. Please follow the instructions to determine if your paper follows the required guidelines using test your pdf file link. Once it is found to be compatible, please go to the Online Registration and Paper Submission link above to upload your paper. In the event a paper is submitted that cannot be viewed or printed properly, the Conference may elect to only publish the abstract of the paper in the Proceedings.

According to the D2H2'06 registration policy, to upload the final paper, at least one of the authors of the paper must be registered at the appropriate full conference rate (Member, Non-member, Student member, Student non-member). Without the payment of registration fee and overlength page charges (if applicable), authors will not be able to upload their final manuscript. Note that while any author of the paper may be registered, for the sake of consistency, only the designated corresponding author may upload the final paper.

Each paper requires a non-refundable, non-transferrable paper deposit of $25 USD. Credit for one paper deposit ($25) will be applied to the Corresponding Author's registration fee. Presenting Authors are required to complete Registration Payment by February 6, 2006. Authors not having completed the registration payment by February 6 , 2006, will have their papers removed from the Conference Proceeding.

Paper Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Registration Fees for Authors are non-refundable beginning February 6, 2006. Registration Fees for General Attendees are refundable at 50% until March 2, 2006. Registration Fees for General Attendees are non-refundable beginning March 3, 2006. In the event a Corresponding Author can not attend, the accepted paper and registration fee minus paper deposits can be transferred to one co-author on the paper. Please remember that Authors are limited to two presentations only.
